主位推进模式下的语篇对比研究
摘 要：论文研究了主位推进模式的实际应用，尤其是在语篇对比分析中的应用。论文的两篇语料均选自乔治·奥威尔的《动物庄园》：英格兰兽和七诫。小说中，动物们对英格兰兽的记忆能力比七诫要好。但是无论从篇幅还是从词汇上，英格兰兽都比七诫的难度大，动物们表现差异的原因令人不解。论文试图从主位推进模式理论方面进行对比分析，从而解释影响语篇效果的因素。

一、引言
在系统功能语法中，研究语篇时，多数会涉及到语篇功能的三个子功能：主位结构（Theme Structure）、信息结构（Information Structure）和衔接（cohesion）。其中，主位结构在研究语篇分析时发挥了独特的作用。韩礼德在他的《功能语法导论》中提到，主位结构被看作是小句的语义结构，因此他总是在小句的层面上讨论主位和述位的切分及其与信息结构的关系[1]。但是，一旦涉及到语篇层面，我们就会发现这种做法的局限性。因为在语篇层面，我们需要考虑到整个语篇的主位推进是如何发展的，以及语篇内主位推进模式是如何影响信息传达的。许多语言学家在主位-述位以及篇章结构上有深入研究。捷克的F·Danes在《论篇章结构的语言学分析》中提到：从句子成分的叙述价值看，述位起着重要的作用，因为它传达新信息[2]。但是从篇章结构看，重要的还是主位，它担负着少量的信息负荷，这就使它成为篇章的重要构成手段[2]。因此，每个语篇（及其段落）都可以看成是一个主位的序列。F·Danes把篇章中所有复杂的主位关系称作主位推进（Thematische Progression）[2]。
常见的主位推进模式有以下几种[3]：放射型：主位相同，述位不同。聚合型：主位不同，述位一致。阶梯型：后一个句子的主位是前一个句子的述位。交叉型：相邻两个句子的主位和述位相互交叉或者部分交叉。以上这些是最常见的主位推进模式，但是在实际应用中，我们会发现，一个语篇中通常是两个甚至多个模式的混合使用。因此，在实际应用中，需要我们根据语篇的实际情况进行分析。
乔治·奥威尔的《动物庄园》是他的代表作之一，作为一篇政治寓言体小说广为人。自古以来，后人从各个方面对其进行解读和研究，但是极少以语言学的角度来看待，这篇论文试图选取其中的两个关键语篇：英格兰兽和七诫，从而以一个全新的角度对其进行解读。虽然这两个语料从篇幅长短和体裁看是有差异的，但是两者有一个共同点，都是统治阶级的工具，论文试图通过主位推进这个新的角度证明，主位推进模式对语篇分析的实用型。
